These studies price the market
Master of Business Administration, or MBA for short, is the highest standard of management education in the world. An MBA offers the knowledge to successfully develop any organization of the future, whether it is a family business, a multinational corporation, an innovative startup, a not-for-profit foundation or a public institution. International accreditations and rankings serve to distinguish worthy MBA education programs from "discount fakes."
Leaders with an MBA degree should have the skills to think strategically, manage change, find opportunities and take advantage of market opportunities, as well as use available human, financial, tangible and intangible resources.
MBA studies are usually undertaken by people with strong leadership qualities, underpinned by analytical thinking skills. Such who already have professional achievements, but want something more. They are hoping for career advancement, financial advancement, responsible and well-paid work abroad, and to build a network of valuable contacts with colleagues from the year. They are convinced that they can achieve, as long as they choose their studies well.
The MBA programs conducted in Poland belong to the broad group of postgraduate studies, although while postgraduate studies usually have about 160 lecture hours, MBAs include at least 300 and often more than 500 hours of instruction. That's why both business school rectors and MBA graduates have long been insisting that the Minister of Science and Higher Education sort out this type of education by granting MBA graduates a separate title.
MBAs are also divided into general or specialized, such as an MBA for finance or an MBA in health care. The broadest range of knowledge and skills is provided by executive MBAs, designed for those with several years of managerial experience. These studies are often conducted in English, and sometimes only selected classes are held in English. Some educational segments are carried out in cooperation with other universities, usually foreign, with a recognized reputation for business education, or with content partners such as consulting firms.
In the United States, the most prestigious are full-time day studies, whose students must give up their jobs to devote themselves exclusively to management education for a year or a year and a half, while taking advantage of special bank loans with which they finance studies costing even more than $200,000. In Europe and Poland, the weekend (part-time) system of training MBA students prevails. The studies are designed for people already working, in most cases with several years of experience in a managerial position. To get into programs at the top of the Perspectives ranking, one often has to pass a GMAT-type test testing the ability to do quick math, statistical analysis and critical thinking. Universities also conduct interviews.
However, not everywhere these requirements are explicitly placed. There are postgraduate programs with a shortened duration and simplified curriculum... This is the result of the lack of statutory regulation and the particular demand for people with an "MBA degree", who, for several years now, thanks to it, can sit on the supervisory boards of several hundred state-owned companies, as well as thousands of local government and municipal companies. Therefore, regulating the conduct of MBA studies is now becoming a necessity!
